MACHU PICCHU

This By all means the most popular trek in Peru. It does not require experience but good physical conditions. The beauty of the landscape and the numerous archaeological sites along the route makes, makes this an unforgettable trip.The Andean region is considered to be the center of the cosmos energy every 500 years or so; On year 2000 this energy moved from the Himalayas to the Andes. We invite you to share the local Andean traditions and religious practices joining a shaman or Paqokunas in one of their celebrations for purification, relaxation or initiation to the Andean Cosmovision. You may also ask for advice or even hear them predict your future from coca leaves.

                                CUS850 THE INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU      5DAYS/4NIGHTS  

Day1:
Train/bus transportation to Chillca at Km. 88 where the trail starts, a couple of hours walk along the left margin of the Urubamba river until the ruins of Llactapata. Setting of the first campsite near the Inca ruins protected between two valleys at 2750 m / 8800 ft. Magnificent view of the snow-capped Veronica mountain. Full board.

Day2:boarAfter breakfast start a full-day hiking (climb about 1000 m / 3200 ft) Passing through a beautiful cloud forest of twisted trees, bromelias and many other plants. Arrival to the campsite (3800 m / 12160 ft) in front of the Huaynanay snow-capped mountain. Full day.
 

Day3:Continue up through Warmiwañusca pass (4200 m / 12450 ft) and Runkuraqay pass (3950 m / 12650 ft). Go through the archaeological sites of Runkuraqay and Sayajmarca. After a short picnic lunch continue the hike up to the third pass at (3540 m / 11330 ft). Full board.

Day4:After breakfast start the descent going down an impressive Inca stair. The path goes down to the Wiñay Wayna ruins, the most important Inca ruins after Machu Picchu. Afterwards the wide and well marked path leads to the Intipunku from where Machu Picchu can be seen in all its majesty. Another 40 minute walk to arrive to the Inca Citadel. Overnight at local Inn in Aguas Calientes. Half board.

Day5:Day free explore the ruins or climb Huayna Picchu.Afternoon train back and the select hotel.
